It is soluble in water and can also be dispersed in vegetable oil and mineral oil. Due to its high polarity, it can be used as a mild carrier, solvent, and has a certain cleaning effect. It can be added up to 15% in aqueous formulations, up to 5% in emulsion formulations, and up to 30% in anhydrous formulations.
